Every object in this apartment was chosen with purpose. The furniture, the fabrics, the arrangement of each room — all faithfully recreated from the interwar years, when Kaunas’s intellectual elite lived with taste and intention.
Iljinai house has stood at the heart of Kaunas since the 1930s — its modernist lines, its distinctive windows, its staircase unchanged by time.
Most people have only ever seen it from the street. The tour takes you inside, through rooms that carry the proportions and light of the era, into a building that shaped what the city became.
Live actors inhabit each room of the apartment and draw you into the lives of the people who once lived here — their conversations, their routines, the small moments of a world on the edge of disappearing.
